So what is your justification for losing by 14 to a 4-5 Va Tech at home?

The same excuse you have for losing 3 games thus far as an LSU fan. A lot of young guys in key positions who hadn't found themselves yet. I expected to lose 2-3 games this year as an OSU fan. But as of now, OSU is playing as well as anyone so I hope they slip in.

Mediocre is a poor word to describe Alabama, but they are not as good as they have been in years past, which is not unexpected with a new starting QB. It seemed obvious from the initial ranking that there was a positive bias for Alabama (well earned though) as most teams would have been ranked lower given the same circumstances. This has not disappeared throughout the season, poor performances (e.g., Arkansas and UT played them tougher than their ranking suggests) do not negatively impact their rankings like other schools. Now if they win out and beat MSU and Auburn, then they will have proven their worth, but until then, they are a very good team that is getting the benefit of the doubt.

Exactly. It was the second game of the season, with a starting QB that had played one game in close to two years with one of the youngest offensive lines in the country. They played poorly, and were coached poorly that game, but young teams have the potential to show substantially more growth within a given season than veteran teams. Although that growth doesn't always happen, OSU has shown that growth.

Although the VT loss should be considered when evaluating the team's season (for rankings and playoffs), anybody who dismisses the team in its current state based on that loss alone is showing ignorance, willful or otherwise.

Do you honestly think Alabama is as good as the last few years?

The Big 10 is garbage and you know it. Bama, Auburn, Miss St, Ole Miss, and Georgia would all be the best team in the Big 10. LSU and even Missouri would be a top 3 team. Laugh all you want. If Ohio St makes it into the playoffs, they will get pecker slapped again just like they have for the last 10 years

Since Georgia lost to South Carolina who lost to Mizzou who lost to Indiana AT HOME, and Indiana has yet to win a B1G game this year, how would it be possible for Mizzou to contend in the B1G?

Osu almost lost to psu just a couple weeks ago. So don't act like this team has turned it around big time. Osu would have multiple losses in another conference. But, like always, they get lucky and play a horrible schedule and get a high ranking. They would have 4 losses with lsu ' s schedule. Is it really a big deal for osu to beat msu? No. Msu was overrated also.

Yeah well Bama almost lost to Arky and LSU but they still won. Auburn always pulls wins out of their arse but their luck run out yesterday. Miss St played the fighting Blue Hose yesterday, reigning church league champions. Now that's a juggernaut!

They played poorly; no debating that. JT especially played poorly, but he did fight through a sprained knee.

I think it is clear that they are much better overall than they were at the beginning of the year. Statistics and observations support this. It would be counter to the evidence to act like they haven't.

In the SEC? Quite likely. Any other conference? Not sure how you can make confidently make that assumption. Regardless, what are they supposed to do?

This statement makes it appear that you insinuating that LSU with 3 losses, 2 at home and another by 34 points is a better team than OSU. They may be, but you surely don't have any evidence to support this.

And here it is. Every loss is an indication of how poor they are; every win is just an indication of how poor the opponents are, and what is a "big win" is no longer so because that team must be overrated.

Would you have said that Alabama was "overrated" if LSU beat them? I would guess you would say that it's an indication of LSU's quality. In reality, it would probably be a little of both, just like it is a little of both for OSU. In each case, I would say err on the side of quality for both though.

Yet, for OSU, any outcome, good or bad, is just an indication of OSU's mediocrity. You are showing confirmation bias at its worst and you show no objectivity whatsoever.

Abdullah is a beast. Obviously shutting him down is key. If that happens, how confident are you in Armstrong to win the game?

I would rather play OSU over MSU in the B1G CCG. Its a real tossup. I want to see how they do against Wisconsin on Saturday. My fear is that they play a typical big came choke as has been typical since Bo Pelini has been here.

I guess this could be a redemption game for both teams given how poorly both played in the last two BIG CCG.

OSU is still on the outside looking in, but if I had to make a guess right now i'll say they sneak in. I think Oregon loses another game down the road. Another 2 players (TE, Center) went down with serious injuries last night. I could see them losing the pac 12 title game.
