wow, im dumbfounded by the last page of this thread
Ron, good points. But you forgot to add "Geaux Saints and Cowboys!!!" Seeing as Brees and Romo both wear #9, you could totally make one of those half-Saints half-cowboys jerseys.
You are the original BROMO.
Altidore had a slew of horrible touches from the moment he got in, but he made good on his main opportunity. I didn't think Ching played too badly either.

Not an everyday soccer fan I will admit from the start, but what the hell was all that crap with the goalie and then every other El Salvador player going down like the were shot by a cannon? Not ragging on you soccer fans or players, the more I watch the better I like the game but that was just garbage. Does this happen alot?

In latin america, it's strategy. Happens elsewhere also, but not nearly as much, from what I've seen.

Great comeback last night though. What time is the game Wednesday?

Man, last night I dreamed about that Ching bicycle kick.
Wish that would have gone in, it would have been an incredible finish.

Re: Ching....
He holds the ball up well, and draws fouls close to the 18, so Landon can shank the free kicks. Remember, it was Ching's drawn penalty that got us back into Gold Cup 2007.
Guzan and Kljestan were both "deer-in-the-headlights" last night.
I think if we start Mastroeni and Hahnemann, we win that game going away.

I prefer Altidore just for speed reasons. You're right about Kljestan and Guzan, but I think they definitely weren't used to the noise factor. Kljestan definitely looked bad but Torres came in well in clutch time. I thought his performance was great; he showed poise and ball control to set up the long balls we flooded into Salvadors box.

-------------------------Howard-------------------------- ------
Hejduk -- Bocanegra -- Onyewu -- Spector (when he's healthy)
---------------------Bradley -- Edu---------------------
Dempsey ----------- Torres ----------------- Donovan
------------------------- Altidore---------------------
Would be most effective imo. Freddy Adu could also see time in one of the attacking mid roles. The good thing about this formation is when we're on the attack, Hejduk and Spector would be able to get up and basically form the 4 man midfield with Bradley and Edu. On the flipside, Dempsey and Donovan are good enough coming back that it wouldn't hurt us on the outsides. Altidore makes some mistakes like any young player will be he has proven over and over that he's a natural finisher.

No Beasley? I like this lineup for the most part. I think Kljestan should fit in somewhere, as well as the leadership Beasley brings. Sometimes Donovan turns invisible during crucial minutes in matches, but he is the all-time leading scorer.

I'm not that big of a Beasley fan. Over the last couple of years he lost his confidence, he's pretty ineffective when he's not running at people. Kjlestan and Edu could be changed up.

Sacha needs to get to Europe soon. He won't progress as a player until that time.

Didn't the MLS reject an offer made for him within the last year?

Yeah, from Celtic. fricking annoying. I think he has a lot of potential. Going to Germany has done wonders for Michael Bradley's game. A similar move would help Sacha, because he has played very poorly in the last two games.
What happened to Benny Feilhaber? It looked for a while that he would be a NT mainstay.
I loved what I saw of Torres.
Ching didn't annoy me nearly as much as he usually does, but I still don't understand why he is there. He looks pretty slow.
Dempsey had some pretty poor passes and turnovers.
Overall we looked like dogshit. I hope Bradley becomes a more aggressive with his line-ups.

The MLS sometimes hinders the USMNT while they're trying to better themselves. Yeah, I'm not sure what's going on with Benny, he's barely even playing for his team in Denmark which I won't even attempt to spell. Ching plays because Bradley loves a big, strong forward that holds the ball and he just doesn't trust Altidore enough yet. Dempsey needs to be in from the beginning of every game.
Did Kenny Cooper nail Bradley's wife or what?

We might have to live with Ching for a while until Jozy gets to where he needs to be. I hope Jozy is our starting striker in the WC.
I don't know what Bradley's deal with Kenny Cooper is. Makes no sense to keep a more explosive player off the team in favor Ching. Don't get it, but it seems like Bradley wants to build continuity or something. The selection of Eddie Johnson makes even less sense.
I mean, who doesn't want a player who can do this.

I think Cooper can definitely succeed in Europe, he needs to gtfo the MLS.
