GOAT - Jordan
Longevity award - Bron
Any time bron has won a title he has had a super team or AD playing like a top 5 player.

I dont think this argument centers around fan boys of either player, it centers around recency bias. At one time, people of my age (55) were trying to fight the recency bias that MJ was better than Bird, Magic, or Jabbar while being guilty of supporting a recency bias when arguing against Chamberlin as the greatest of all time. The difference in this discussion as that all fans of previous eras (for the most part) were eventually convinced by MJ's play and results on the court that he was indeed better than anyone that ever played.
While Lebron is indeed a great player, his play has not been able to sway the previous generations into believing he is the best of all-time simply because it isn't justified. This is proven out by the fact that those pushing the narrative for Lebron are overwhelmingly of a younger age.

MSB logic: “LeBron will never be better than MJ bc politics!!!!!!!!!!!”

Anytime Jordan won a title or even a playoff series for that matter he had Pippen.
I can do it too!

pippen was always overrated, he wins no titles without Mike.

Put them on the same team.
LeBron would lead the league in assists
Jordan would lead the league in scoring
They'd win the title every year and Jordan would be MVP. Jordan would be happy to take over and be the hero and Lebron would be happy to let him.
Jordan would toy with LeBron in his sidekick role, never giving him the credit he deserves but just enough occasional compliments to keep him seeking approval. Say he's a great great team player and fun to play with, that's all he ever really wants to hear. The world would never know how great Lebron really was. Jordan would be the daddy and Lebron would be the bitch

Michael Jordan is and probably always will be my favorite player. Just grew up right in the wheelhouse of Jordan taking over the basketball and sports pop culture world.
But just like what Jordan did on a basketball court felt kind of unprecedented at the time, I can honestly say what Lebron has done (and continues to do at his age/games played) also feels kind of unprecedented. A guy his size with his skill set dominating for so long is really crazy. I think Lebron comes off as an overly manufactured douche that isn't ultimately comfortable in his own skin a lot of time so he has never been one of my favorite players, but there has never really been anyone like him on a basketball court.
Very different player than Jordan so I'm fine without not comparing them to each other anyway.

So who's a better player- Scottie Pippen or Dwayne Wade?

This has always been the case. Every era claims their own. There are 70 and 80 year old fans that will never believe that anyone was better than Wilt, Russell and Kareem. There's just a lot fewer of them around now. It's not that they've come around to being MJ fans. In fact age entrenches fans even more in their era.
As soon as MJ's era starts dying off the Lebron fans will predominate even more. Then in a few years someone else will come along and that player will dominate the younger fans. That's the way it goes.

I’m saying defense is significantly better in today’s NBA.

most would say Wade wouldn’t they?
Posted on 2/7/23 at 12:55 pm to Boomshockalocka
Most people would say that.
But on that point, thank you.
LeBron and Dwayne Wade went 2 and 2 together in the NBA Finals.
Michael and Scottie went 6 and 0 together.
This is where the MJ-Lebron comparisons end for me.

Most of the 70-80 year olds think Jordan is the greatest ever.
Jordan was called the GOAT almost immediately. It was a complete sort of Babe Ruth moment everything changed.
Bobby Knight was calling it already after coaching Jordan in the Olympics before he even entered the NBA.
LeBron had tons of hype too of course. But Jordan went on the utterly dominate the league in a way Lebron for all his greatness did not.

Bron has great individual #s. Probably Second all time behind Jordan. When you are looking at 1 v 2 the 6 titles makes Jordan clear #1. And he also was better than lebron at each players peak.

This is false. Maybe some were saying that but it wasn't the majority.
The prevailing sentiment for MJ's early career was that he was a great individual player, poor team player.

Those people are outliers. The overwhelming majority of NBA fans that age even agree that it is MJ.

Again, the difference is it didn't take that passage of time to happen before MJ was thought of as the greatest player of all-time. It was a given even before he retired.
Now I will agree those people (and those of my age) may indeed be guilty of a recency bias against Lebron as it applies to judging his place on the list below Jordan. In my opinion, he isn't even top 5 (MJ, Magic, Jabbar, Chamberlin, Bird) but I realize I am likely swayed by being a fan of "my" era.

Jordan had a dynasty with the garbage team that drafted him with overall skimpier rosters playing against more overall robust teams. Just him and Scottie, 1 or 2 role players and a bunch of scrubs. I don't if there's been some revisionism in this department. Go ahead and look at the Bulls 3-10 in their depth chart versus the Lakers, Blazers Sonics and Jazz. He did what LeBron did not in Cleveland. And even when LeBron went back to Cleveland they formed a new super team for him, traded for guys who were all stars in their own right, Jordan never had a Kyrie PG or Kevin Love PF.

Miami heat LeBron would dunk all over MJ if they played 1 v 1. MJ too little compared to him…

The top 4 and ones up for goat debate in no order are:
Wilt
LeBron
Jordan
Kareem
Statistics/MVPs/Championships — that’s the 4 to argue over…
