Heat split in Boston and finish the series off in Miami in game 5.

Why would you trade the highest scoring 3rd option in the NBA. Miami's supporting cast will improve every year with mid level guys and guys accepting the minimum to play for a championship.

Boston could still win this series, FWIW. It's just not as likely as the Heat winning.

Also, everyone is overreacting to the Heat winning two home games. Granted, they don't have to win an away game to win this series, but I'll wait and see how they look on the road in Game 3 before I declare this series "over."

The Big 3 have been awful, which I can't image will continue for that much longer. Especially at home. Miami will need James and Wade to be awesome to win in Boston, similar to how they played tonight. Boston's bench should dominate Miami's bench at home, even more so than they did tonight.

That being said, a lot is going to fall on Paul Pierce's shoulders. He's their best player, so he needs to start playing better. Everything changes when the home-court shifts. If the Big 3 makes an appearance in Game 3, I expect a Celtics win.

cause with Haslem being healthy next year, and by trading bosh and his contract, the Heat could get a really good pg/c.

With haslem coming back you wouldn't trade bosh for a center and a good bench player??

Also do you have a link that he's the highest scoring third option?

Mike Miller has sucked this season. Supposedly his hand is still injured, which has made him afraid to shoot.

The problem is, you can't get one without the other.

And Bosh isn't going anywhere.

Exactly, i'd argue the heat really don't need a pg though. Lebron and Wade play better with the ball in their hands.

I agree, he will probably stay (especially if the win the Finals)

but they could trade bosh and his contract for 2 quality players who fill a need, who have equal contracts. How much is Bosh owed next year?

The only thing the Heat need is a better bench. They're fine everywhere else. No one is going to trade them a good center and get Bosh and his contract in return.

This is a masterful post. I expect the Celtics to come out and win game 3 and probably game 4 as well. Obviously, it as uphill battle, but I would not even consider penciling them out.

true, especially at the end of games and during critical stretches. The only pg they need is someone who can play D and knock down the open shot when necessary.

LINK

Bosh is owed $16M next year, and much more after that. He's not going anywhere.

FWIW i'm definately not counting the celtics out. It's just fun to overreact sometimes like most people do on this board.

It's the natural Heat fan reaction to declare the series over because they held home-court.

From Boston's beat writer:

quote:

The Celtics have never faced a 2-0 deficit in the Big Three era and now have the daunting task of winning four of the next five games in order to extend their season. That's even more daunting given the opponent, a Miami team that hasn't blinked when Boston had made its runs. Going home to the Garden will help, but there's virtually no margin for error now with the Celtics.

There's a little more to it than the Heat just holding serve at home

No i wouldnt. When Wade or Lebron sit he is a legit 2nd option. For the season the big 3 averaged 70pts a game between them. All you need a a good defensive center and guys who can knock down open shots, which is what they have.

I went to NBA.com and went through every teams stats and researched it. Most people dog Bosh cuz he only averages 19 and 9, but he is doing it with two guys averaging 26 and 25 a game.

It wasn't necessary for them to win one of these first two games to win the series. It would have made it a lot easier, but if they can go home and take care of business in Game 3, then things will be right back on track.

Tonight on sportcenter, it will be all about how the Heat dominated the first two games and are on track to handle the Celtics rather easily.

If the Celtics win Game 3, "it's a series again."
