I like the guy overall but I don't want him to have MVP caliber seasons for the indefinite future now that he left the Cardinals.
I still look at him leaving as him losing out on the chance to be the greatest player in club history... which hurts him and his legacy more IMO than it does the Cardinals.
That was pretty much a given as soon as the numbers and length of that contract were revealed. Pujols won in getting that much guaranteed money and the Cardinals won in not being silly enough to match the offer

I'm a lifelong Cardinals fan. I don't bear Albert any ill will for signing the contract with the Angels. From the Cardinals standpoint, the only relevant question is whether they should have matched the Angels' offer. Clearly they should not have and that was the right decision.

I feel the same way. Red birds seem to have gotten the better end of this...as of now.
