Can a baseball athlete get away with violently throwing a baseball refusing autographs?

A baseball fan waits during the seats and stands during batting practice to ask one of the baseball sluggers to sign an autograph on their baseball. The fan hands the baseball to the slugger while walking around the field.

The athlete screams no, violently throws the baseball at the fan and screams expletives and slurs. "F off!" "Naff off!"

Can a baseball athlete get away with that type of behavior?
