Has been for a while now, ever since the governing bodies of boxing-----of which there are several in existence today-----decided that the original 8 weight divisions were not enough and bumped the numbers up to 17 different divisions, often separated by only 3-4 lbs.
More belts, more champions, more money but fewer undisputed champions due to all the different governing bodies now controlling the sport that each have their own champions per weight class.
