Yep. Somebody needed to challenge him. Still a great race by Toast who was out of his league and by Chrome who has run a lot this year.

Maybe. It's certainly one of the most blatant abuses of a start I've seen. Hard to make the DQ call though.

Sort of sucks when a track is playing that unfairly that the top 3 just run around the track. Makes for a boring race.

rewatching that start, I am not sure how the stewards don't take down Bayern and put him behind Shared Belief at least. He was absolutely solely responsible for that start that absolutely demolished Moreno, who would have likely made a significant impact on the race. I know they will say well the horses had a chance to make it up, but honestly when the top three horses run around the track the whole way in front, then it is obvious no one is going to make up ground on that track. I just don't think it is particularly fair to reward a horse for taking out half the field at the start.
