so, who likes the new matchup with Providence? Scary if you ask me.

Curry's injury yesterday makes me really not like Davidson's chances of getting not only an auto bid, but even an at large bid. Face it...they just don't have the resume. Therefore, I am going with Charleston to win the conf tourney. Davidson is OUT.
Arizona and Wisconsin are doing what they have to do. I have to say that they're both in.
The Big East is looking less strong every single day, it seems. I have to put Providence back in and Cincy back out based simply on future projections. That could change, of course, because it's already happened with these two last week in a flip-flop.
The MWC, for whatever reason, is winning me over again. UNLV, BYU, and Utah should all get in and SD State is my pick to win the conference tourney. Hard to leave UNLV out when they beat L'ville and are almost at 20 wins.
Kansas State and Nebraska both played themselves out yesterday. K State blew it! They win and they are likely in. Both of these teams have to do some major work to get another look.
Saint Mary's proved they can still play without their best player and showed a good performance vs. a good Portland team. When Mills comes back (and he should very soon), the Gaels should make a run at the conf tourney c'ship. Right now, the see saw has them on the up.
The Florida Gators are OUT. They just cannot expect to get a bid with a terrible OOC resume and losing at UGA - a team that LSU just beat badly under the same circumstances. This loss, along with UF not being able to win @ SC, UK, and UT have costed them. The only way to get back in is win @ LSU in 2 weeks.
USC, right now, has been overtaken by Arizona for that last spot in the Pac 10. The Trojans have been very inconsistent. They're going to have to win 3/4 over the next 2 weeks to get back in the picture. They also need Washington to go into a slump.
Madness, I tell ya.

Intriguing matchups I see based on your bracket:
Ohio State-St. Mary's
-If the Gaels do get in, OSU will have a hell of a time trying to guard Mills. Could be an upset there.
Texas-Boston College
-BC's stock is slipping, but should they sneak in, Tyrese Rice is as good a scorer as there is in the country. And Texas hasn't proven to be as strong as expected.
LSU-Providence
-Tricky? Sure. But what 5-12 game isn't? What benefits Providence is their balanced scoring attack (4 players in double figures). Their defense isn't particularly strong at 75 ppg allowed. I think the Tigers take it.
Butler-Charleston
-Given up on Davidson, eh? If anyone is going to win the SoCon it would be the Citadel, Charleston's crosstown rival that has beaten them twice this year. But the matchups between mid-majors are always ridiculously entertaining. See Drake-WKU from last year.
Xavier-VMI
-If VMI can get past Radford in the Big South, their style causes so many problems for anyone. They essentially run the Mike D'Antoni offense on a college level. Rarely does 10+ seconds run off the shot clock.

Clearly you have as much/more love for this than I do. I suggest, sir, that you also make a bracket and we compare. Whatdayasay?

Without Curry, who won't be giving up on them? Is Lovedale supposed to take up the slack? I like The Citadel and they have beaten Charleston twice, but it is very difficut to do it a 3rd time. One of the two, though, shall make it, although don't count out the Mocs.

They had a minor trip up against a decent CCU. They took Radford out at their place, handily, last time out on ESPNU. The Holmeses are just plain scary in the 4 guard offense and this team puts POINTS on the board. They remind me very much of that '06 Iona squad and also the '07 VCU team.

Got a pretty busy couple of days ahead, but with the Mardi Gras break next week, I can see myself putting together a bracket by the end of next weekend. I think a lot of conference races will take shape next week, and some bubble teams will play themselves in/out of the dance.

Would be nice if we had Lighty back to help with him, but doesn't look like that's going to be the case. He could torch our zone. You're right, that could be a potential upset.

I almost 90 percent wanna pick the Gaels, but Ohio State, when they show up, can play shut down D and can shoot. In '07, the Buckeyes showed they were better offensively than stats indicated (Tenn game was a definite sign). I'd like to see them do that. If Mills is healthy and the Gaels start streaking going into the tourney, you might as well flip the seeds.

Yeah, I heard something last night that two years ago, we averaged in the 60s for conf play and the 80s for the Tourney. I think the Big Ten tends to be lower scoring, just because it's a slow paced league, when we play eachother, but we can open it up OOC, if need be.

Turner and Lighty are fun to watch...and can get uptempo offensively.
My God does Indiana suck this year, though. Crean gets a pass, but needs to get that program back into the dance next year.

BC gets in with that win. What has happened to Duke?
Clemson blew a chance to move up.

Boston College played with a sense of urgency. They knew they had slacked themselves right on to the bubble. Their win is Miami's loss. Assuming the Canes do fall to UNC, Miami could be out of the field at 4-7 in the ACC. With Miami that bad off, I can't find a place for both BC and the U in the field.
Some great games today.

Yeah, the U needed BC to lose the way Georgetown needs Providence and Cincy to get lost
BC looks in and even have a chance at moving up. They can play.

Hey Tiger, do you know that BC can't play in the East region?

No, I didn't...are the regional semis in Boston or something (bout to check)? And I took Memphis out of the south bc the regional semis are in, of course, Memphis.

I fixed...moved BC up a seed for that win against Duke.

Joey Brackets (Lunardi) is losing his touch. His bubble projections are waaaaay off.
Arizona as one of the last four in? I think not. They are solid. Miami still in? I know his argument about their close losses is somewhat pertinent, but they are still losses. 4-7 in the ACC.
Give the conference credit for being as good as it is, but don't stretch to let in teams. BC, Miami, Va. Tech. Only two of those will make it. Va. Tech has the best chance to play themselves out.
Now, I will jump on the side of the rantards. LSU is a 7 (which I agree with). Tennessee is still rated higher. No. The time has come for Tennessee to stop getting that much credit. Give them some credit, but not enough to put them a seed higher than a team that beat them in Knoxville and is two games ahead of them in the overall conference standings.
Florida is closer to the bubble than Lunardi thinks. 10, maybe. I think 11 is more realistic at this point.
Lunardi is slipping.
We will see after a very interesting week. Some big games (starting tonight with Pitt-UConn) and BracketBusters this weekend!!!
LSU baseball also, so it will be a busy weekend. I will be putting up my own bracket for Monday thanks to the break from school.
