Understand. Same for me here with the SPHL in Birmingham. Glorified beer league. Loved the ECHL in the 90s and early 00s.

It’s a growing league. That’s the positive. My hope is one day soon the FPHL and SPHL merge. The way hockey is with the juniors, any league without NHL affiliations is going to be a lesser product because it’s full of journeymen and old past their prime stars. But that doesn’t mean it can’t be fun.
I mean you can’t expect much else. Baton Rouge isn’t exactly some untapped hockey paradise deserving of a Franchise in a good league

Yep, they would be smart to just continue barnstorming in these smaller markets in the Southeast.
