For those of you who know, what the hell happened between them? I'm reading about it on espn insider and stuff (I can't actually read the insider article). I watched the game but I guess I missed something.
I searched and couldn't find anything
and sorry if it's the wrong board. I didn't know where to put it.
thanks

I think they were just pissy because the officials put the one second that should have been on the clock back on the clock.

That's what I read in the Omaha paper just now.
Love or hate either team, the replay clearly showed that they got the call right I think.
I think they should be more pissed that the defense allowed Texas to get in that position in the first place if you ask me.
At the end of the day, I just hate Nebraska.

You kidding me? The defense is the only reason they were in the game. If they had any offense at all they would have won. Hell blame the kicker who kicked it out of bounds to allow UT to have great field position.

For example, lsu vs ole miss this year, terrance tolliver caught the ball and landed with 3 seconds left but the clock could not be stopped exactly at 3 seconds because of 'human reaction' time. If the call was right last night, then the refs should of replayed the lsu/ole miss play and reset the clock to 3 seconds.
This guy has it on the money.

Yeah, that's the article from the Omaha paper.
No, they had less than a minute to keep them from scoring and they allowed McCoy to complete a long pass to shipley to put them in range. That's a lapse in defense.
Correct, but that's not the point. On that last drive, the clock becomes a moot point if they stop them. They didn't.
Agreed.

Interesting point this goy makes:

the call was wrong. even on balls thrown out of bounds/incomplete passes, the clock doesn't stop until the ref blows it dead. Therefore human error has to be accounted for. The ball hit out of bounds at exactly 1 second (which means it most likely was less than a second left), but it takes at least a second for the clock to be stopped.

Man, the end of that game reminded me of the Panthers Super Bowl game. Play a great game and have your kicker just completely rape you. Bet that kid feels awful

He shouldn't. The Nebraska offense was terrible in that game and it's a miracle they were still in it at the end. No way I would put this on the kicker.

The offense was terrible yet they were still winning with under 2 minutes left. If they start that drive at their own 20 there's no way Texas wins that game.

says the kicker.
If that ball drops in at the 10, Nebraska wins the game, period.

texas got into field goal position because the kick off went out of bounds, giving them the ball on the 40. then, a 15 yard personal foul occured on the shipley tackle. thats 35 friggin' yards that nebraska gifted them. that's why they were in field goal range. they have nobody to blame but their kicker and that tackler. if LSU would have kicked that ball OB, it would have been miles' fault, since bad coaching obviously caused that athlete to frick-up.

Nebraska's defense is badass. Just bent too much at the end. If they had any offense at all, they'd be top 5.

I think they should be more pissed that bullshite pass interference calls not called evenly allowed Texas to put up their first 10 points if you ask me.

At that point, Beebe hadn't seen the controversial play, but he'd been on the phone with Big 12 staff, who said officials got it right by adding one second to the game clock.
How is the Conference Commissioner not watching the game?
