The announcers were even in on it
I've noticed this the last couple years now.
Saw it last night in the Miss St games. WR made a 50 yard catch and run, they called the guy for an OPI. It wasn't that at all and the commentators were just like "Oh yeah, you can't do that."

thought the clocked stopped because of that ND player showing injury.
The clocked stopped for the review. After the review it should have restarted when they spotted the ball then forcing ND to use their final TO.

Wow that’s just a blatant attempt to leave as much time as possible for ND. Not only was the spot criminal, they failed to start the clock, allowing ND to save their last time out.
One mistake is possibly incompetence. Two is cheating and should be investigated.

That's not what the announcers said.
I was at the game. The ref announced ND used its final timeout, the in-stadium scoreboard showed 0 timeouts. And then as the game played out, it’s obvious ND didn’t have one: ND spiked the ball after getting a first down with about 14 secs left (clocked it with 9), then tried a short sideline out that fell incomplete with 5 secs left, then kicked the 63-yard FG at that point rather than try a quick pop pass or run up the middle and a quick timeout.
They didn’t have a timeout. NBC and its announcers were wrong.

As they were on the spot, and the night crew was about a Colorado replay... very subpar announcing from NBC

Thanks for clearing that up.
