Well, seems like people aren’t allowed to root for Burrow unless they’re from Cincinnati. I grew up in Memphis. We didn’t get a pro team in the state until my senior year of high school. Memphis was passed up for a team when the Jags/Panthers entered the league. There were a lot of feelings about Nashville getting a team a couple years later. So never cared for the Titans. Other than that, my entire childhood, the closest teams to Memphis were the Falcons and Saints two states away.

You were a fan of Joe Montana dude, a San Francisco QB who payed at Notre Dame. That you care so much people cheer for Burrow, the guy who played for their favorite college team, is hilarious. You picked a random player with no connection to your school or state and think LSU fans are weird

I don’t see a problem in cheering for a team based on one, or more, players. But since this is the topic, it seems the Saints/LSU fans damned sure had a problem with it when a lot of Auburn fans followed Cam Newton to the Panthers. The name “Camthers” was formed.
Now, people are calling out the LSU fans that have turned into BengaLSUs fans and they don’t like it.
Either way, for me, I wanted to see CN1 do well in the NFL. When it came to playing against Denver, I wanted Denver to win — and they always did.
I also firmly believe you can’t have 2 teams. Bouncing around from team to team is ridiculous. I became a fan of Denver in 1996 and they’ve been through some good times and bad, most notably bad since Pat Bowlen passed, but I have remained. 2017-2023 were rough times.

And my point is very simple. I’ve repeated it multiple times. burrow is at home for the remainder of the season.
That’s it. Do with that information what you will. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

What’s hilarious is you think this is some gotcha. Cowboys are the largest fanbase. All of them live in Dallas? Steelers are up there too. All their fans from Pittsburgh?
You don’t understand the difference between a kid choosing a team and grown men being a fan of a player while not caring for the team? But if that helps you cope then have at it. Won’t change shite. burrow is still at home while MY Chiefs (notice I said nothing of Montana) are going for 3 in a row.

I don’t really have a team in any pro sport. I never lived where a team was so I gravitated to players. First was Nolan Ryan. When he retired, then it was Griffey. I was mainly a baseball guy as a kid. Kevin Faulk was my favorite LSU football player growing up so then I followed his NFL career. Didn’t really care for the Patriots but I wanted him to do well. Burrow is obviously the best player of my lifetime from LSU so yeah I want him to do well in the NFL. I don’t root for the Bengals per se, either, but if they do well, by extension, Burrow does. If I grew up near a pro team maybe things would be different but I didn’t so
I follow all the LSU baseball players’ pro careers, too, honestly a lot more than the football players. Since I have no rooting interest in a specific MLB team, if one of them is in the playoffs, I generally will pull for that team.

There you go speaking for everyone as if 1) it matters that a bunch of LSU fans don’t like my posts and 2) it’s going to change anything.
And I’m laughing at how burrow is sitting at home like the rest of us for this postseason. So we are all laughing our asses off and having a good time, right?
