So do people think that this current Bama team, which many believe is NOT as good as previous Bama teams, has more NFL quality players and thus more starters than what's currently out there?

Absolutely. This is the most talented roster Saban has had.

How many of those 28 are current starters?? 8?

How many of those 28 are still in the nfl? 1/3 were probably practice squad members who got cut first year

There are currently 30 Alabama players in the NFL.

You mean other than the fact that MANY of those players were better in college than the current guys, and THOSE guys aren't starters?

ETA: And why the frick is this thread anchored?

I don't have time to cull through rosters, but if the 2004 Texas Longhorns hads 14 on O and 11 on D, then I tink we can find a handful of SEC teams that have had 11+ on D.

Offense:
Cedric Benson - Bears (now Bengals)
Justin Blalock - Texans
Ahmard Hall - Titans
Tony Hills - Steelers
Nate Jones - Vikings
Derek Lokey - Chiefs
Bo Scaife - Titans
Jonathan Scott - Bills
Lyle Sendlein - Cardinals
Kasey Studdard - Texans
Limas Sweed - Steelers
David Thomas - Patriots
Selvin Young - Broncos
Vince Young - Titans

Defense:
Tarell Brown - 49ers
Tim Crowder - Broncos
Brandon Foster - Colts
Cedric Griffin - Vikings
Michael Griffin - Titans
Michael Huff - Raiders
Derrick Johnson - Chiefs
Frank Okam - Texans
Brian Robison - Vikings
Aaron Ross - Giants
Rodrique Wright - Dolphins

I don't think 2001 Miami even had 22 nfl starters. Has any team ever had 22 nfl starters at one time??

They had 16 first rounders. I'd be surprised if they didn't have 22 starters. This info can be found out.
