Defense is back in college football. That’s good to see. It’s been getting better the last couple of years. Now, OSU, PSU, UGA, LSU, Miami, Texas, ND, Clemson all have legit defenses.

Texas lost by 7 on the road to #3 and drops 6 spots while Notre Dame loses by 3 to #10 on the road and they only drop 3 spots. Gotta love that Midwest bias.

AP poll is largely meaningless to me personally.
They really need to go back to a BCS style system that heavily favors the Coaches Poll and polls that don’t do a preseason poll (the Coaches shouldn’t do one until October) while minimizing the AP poll. It’s the best way to do things so it won’t get any consideration of course.

That's honestly pretty shocking. They've finished in the top six every season since then except for 2023, and even then they started 11-0.
