I live about 2 hours from Madison, so I'm planning on making a trip for a home game this year. Will probably be for the Maryland game, but I might go for Minnesota if I end up not making it to the LSU/A&M game.

I have heard that Madison is one of the best gameday atmospheres outside of the south. What is some good advice/ must-dos for my first game?

Also what is the best option for finding tickets?

I just looked it up and it got pretty meh reviews. I'm guessing it's more of a drunk food place? That sounds good to me

Assuming you've been to plenty games in Baton Rouge, you will be sorely disappointed.

I'm not expecting it to rival BR. I just want to check it out to see what a Big 10 game is like, and I know Northwestern blows when it comes to atmosphere

Well SVP loves him some Camp Randall. Can't be all bad.

Yeah, I get it... few games on Earth are gonna have the same atmosphere as LSU/Bama in TS at night.
But if you just compare it to your regular season SEC matchups (or even worse to the rent-a-wins), I'm sure Camp Randall will hold its own.

As a city no doubt. BR is a shithole

I went around Christmas this past year and it was great. Went to some really good restaurant/bar across the street from the capital

Yea, they usually don't leave in the 3rd quarter.

they shouldn't be too disappointed...if the 2nd lineman didn't go down, they win that game.

One of the downsides of having games won before the 4th quarter. Thank god we don't face VaTech this year

no, props to LSU for finding momentum at a pretty bleak moment

they also started throwing to the middle of the field

but the contrast between LSU's running game pre and post injury was a stark one

As an OSU fan, I've made several trips to Madtown. Favorite places include Mickey's Dairy Bar, the Red Shed, Old Fashions, and any place along State and University. Enjoy!!!

If this thread turns into a BR vs. Madison thread, I will be back to provide my insight as I lived in both places
