Sure he was. So was Saban. It's why I feel no sorrow for coaches getting out due to the "new landscape". The part they don't like is the transfer of power. Boosters now have the upper hand in power wielding. Dont like the coach? Withhold funding.

I met him once, he came across as nice, but not tough.

He got screwed more than anyone by covid. FSU had a national title caliber team that year.
