He's terrible and he's doing the same stuff he did with us. Hitting one grand slam aka half your "run production" in a 7 game sample size doesn't change that. It's all around bad if he's starting for you in a playoff series.

And he's actually 4-25 I think, ESPN hasn't updated their stats

He's been great defensively too

All the defense in the world doesn't undo sub 200 with a 50% K rate. I'm glad it worked out where y'all are happy with him though and we don't have him anymore I'll be interested to see if you feel the same at the end of the season

You realize we basically got him for free, right?

He's doing okay for someone who is batting 8-9 hole and getting paid shite.

Lol he literally can't be worse than having Profar in the outfield or Rua as our every day LF.

It doesn't matter what you're paying him if he's playing for you and sucking dick Shitty play is shitty play regardless of what you pay for it. Rua and Profar's numbers are much better than Gomez's this year. Stubbs is basically the same player if not better right now

Stubbs was put on release waivers today and was claimed by Baltimore.

And I doubt that lol. The guy hardly every played aside from a late game defensive substitution.

Profar and Rua's numbers look decent on paper, but Profar hasn't been an every day player and has a glaring hitting weakness against lefties. Rua has not been in the lineup against a right handed pitcher this season and had his first home run/XBH since July 2nd today.

I understand what you're saying, I do, but you haven't watched the players you're mentioning play in person 60+ times this season like I have. If Gomez doesn't work out then fine. I doubt we would like him hitting sub .200, but we'll see how it goes.

We're 6-1 with him in the lineup, I can't complain as is.

ETA: I will thank you for having reason enough to say those things though. I know some people are acting like he's the second coming

I know that, I'm considering him as another option along with Profar and Rua since he was on the roster and basically replaced by Gomez

I've seen Rua and Profar play a good amount and I think that platoon with Stubbs as a defensive replacement is much better than Gomez. I also think you could have dealt for Francoeur for next to nothing and that would have been better. I usually like what the Texas front office does too. But they've basically set what the playoff OF is going to look like now unless there's an injury or Choo comes back. It doesn't matter for the rest of the year since you have the division sewn up but it matters for the ALDS

I don't understand how unless they only watched yesterday and today. He had like an 0-18 stretch with 10 or 11 Ks or something.
