Rodgers ran away with it and rightfully so. He was head and shoulders the best QB in the NFL this year. Can't really argue that. He had an all time great year for a QB.

Rodgers wasn't head and shoulders above Brees and Brady this year. That statement is just crazy. All three of them had a great year and Brees finished out the year better than Rogers. The main reason the packers record was better was that they created turnovers (+24 to the Saints -3). In my opinion the vote should have been much closer but that is how it goes I guess. Rogers deserved it but Brees also deserved it. I guess Brees did win the Fed Ex player of the year and the Offensive player of the year award so he did get recognition anyway.

And Alex Smith did not outplay Brees in the playoff game. He threw to one receiver/tight end most of the game that they couldn't cover for shite because of the defensive schemes and the personel on defense. And one of Brees interceptions that game Devery Henderson fell down. He played a great game and kept them in the game until the end despite 3 turnovers the rest of the offense made. He threw for 460 yards that game.

While I agree the Saints are horrible at producing turnovers, a huge reason for this discrepency is Brees' high interception total compared to Rodgers' low one. It ain't just the defenses.

I love Brees, but Rodgers was very deserving.

You throw the interceptions difference back into the turnover ratio and the saints are +5 and still 19 turnovers behind the Packers. That's more than a turnover a game. Any team would benefit from that. And I don't think 14 interceptions is considered high especially when you throw for 46TD's.

Like I said in my last post, Rogers was deserving and he had a great season but so did Brees. It wasn't as lopisded as the vote suggested.

I agree that it was very close, but I don't agree that the voting suggests their seasons were lopsided. Just most voters thought Rodgers had a slightly better season. They could have all thought Rodgers' season was a 100 and Brees' was a 99.9. It's a fallacy to think the voting means they thought Rodgers had a better season by 48:2 or whatever.

I love Brees, wanted him to win, and would have been thrilled if he had. But to act like Rodgers winning is some sort of travesty of justice is absurd. I know you're not saying this, but it appears others are.

Anyone have a list of who the 50 voters are and who they voted for?
