Jackets have looked awful since the rash of injuries started. They will probably be on the outside looking in when they get everyone back.

I would be pissed if I lost money on an empty net goal.

No one. I’m just stating I would hate to bet on an over/under, and lose on an empty net goal.

Winter Classic probably deserves its own thread. The outdoor game on NYD is still cool to me. I could do without the other Stadium Series games though.

Citi Field looks cool today. Love the cabs in the outfield. Lots of shadows on the playing surface. Should turn the lights on.

Yep. The Sabres are trash.

Murray was a horrible GM.

Capitals +175 for -1/2 in regulation seems like good deal to me. They are playing the Hurricanes ... am I missing something ? Is Ovechkin out or something ? Aren't the caps at the top of the standings ?

Edit: apparently the Caps are still bad on the road and Hurricanes won like 8 out of the last 10 or something. Will have to reevaluate.

The league and NBC never expected the Sabres would be this bad.

Daniel Sprong named AHL rookie of the month. Interesting because he's Dutch. Though he moved to Canada when he was 8.

quote:

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The American Hockey League announced today that Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins forward Daniel Sprong has been selected as CCM/AHL Rookie of the Month for December. Sprong tallied nine goals - including three game-winners - and five assists for 14 points in 12 games for the Penguins in December before earning a recall to the Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL). Among the rookie's scoring outburst in December was his second hat trick of the season on Dec. 29 - part of a four-point effort in a 5-1 win over Hartford.
