Irrelevant.

The College Football Playoff committee already set a precedent in 2016 when they left out Penn State. 2017 Ohio State has a nearly identical resume to 2016 Penn State.

The only way your comparison would have merit is if Auburn won the SEC and was left out in favor of Alabama, which is exactly what happened with Penn State and Ohio State last year.

That’s the whole point. The big ten champ was left out and replaced with another big ten team that had the better resume. I’m not sure why this is sooooo fricking hard to comprehend.
