but Wainwright and Carpenter (if he stays healthy after all those innings last year) make the best one-two punch in baseball. Pujols and Holliday are also a deadly combo.

Halladay and Hamels could be nasty too if Hamels gets out of his funk. NLCS could be epic.

Lincecum/Cain is fricking nasty.

They just need to get a better cleanup hitter than Aubrey Huff or Bengie Molina.

I also have St. Louis picked to win it all, but I wouldn't wanna face Lince/Cain in a series.

That doesn't seem that far fetched to me, Paul.

Yeah, that whole rotation is really good. Sanchez is great when he's on point. Bumgarner has a lot of hype. Even Zito had his moments last year.

Last year the Mariners were picked by most mags to win the West and we saw how that turned out.

What now? Why the hell would anyone have picked the M's last year? Pretty much every prediction I saw had them at the bottom of the west and among the worst in the league. I don't think anybody expected them to win 85 games.

Maybe I have the seasons mixed up.

In 2 mags that I have looked at this year, the Angels were picked to be #1 in West.

Baloo, Where will the awyuls end up this year? break out year for Wieters?

Sorry, didn't mean to ignore ya.

If the O's were in ANY other division, they'd have a decent shot to win the division. Even as it stands now, I think they have the most talented OF in the toughest division in baseball. Wieters is the real deal and he was putting up very good numbers once he stopped pressing. I think he'll break out this year, but look, even Joe Mauer wasn't Joe Mauer right away.

Unfortunately, given their division, they will finish fourth. Given the unbalanced schedule, they may not even break .500. It's infuriating. This is a good team (though young pitchers make me nervous), that will likely only win 75 games due to circumstances beyond the O's control. Though, for the record, I would like to say regarding signing Atkins to play first base... WTF?!

On another note, the NL West looks dead even between the Giants, Dodgers, D-backs, and Rockies. Any one of those teams could win the division or finish fourth. But, if they make the playoffs, good God are the Giants set to make a run for the title. I don't think they make it, but Lincecum and Cain and pray for rain is absurdly good.

West will be interesting. Hard to bet against the Angels but both Texas and Seattle have potential.

Totally agree with this! Being here in the Bay Area I casually follow the Giants. They have a ton of potential and IF they make the playoffs they could be trouble. 5 game series in 1st round would cause others big problems!
