re: 12th Annual CSAA (Formerly CSAL) 8th Grade Basketball Preseason Rankings

Unbelievable Sunday of Basketball to wrap up the Elite 8 Tournament.
SJV defeated St. George to win the consolation championship.
OLOM defeated Aloysius in the third place game.
Catholic High School capped off a crazy tournament run to defeat St. Thomas More 37-36 and cut down the nets. It was an instant classic that went back and forth with many lead changes. CHS won their 3 tournament games by a total of 4 points.
CSAL/CSAA historians will have to let us know when the last time CHS has won the Elite 8 (if ever). It has to be at least 25-30 years since it has happened.
It was a great CSAA season with a bunch of parity. The Elite 8 featured some upsets and some incredible games that went down to the wire. Always good to kick off March Madness with some middle school basketball.
I plan to start a thread soon to see if we can get a list of all the Elite 8 Champions for the past 25-30 years. Be on the lookout.

Go Bears. I coached #4 Tre Benson in football. Kid is going to be a STAR at chs the next 4 years.

Yeah it has been a crazy season with a ton of parity. In the tournament, it felt like any of the top 6 or so teams had a shot to win it, and that proved to be the case.
Both of these teams moved up in my rankings throughout the season, but I don't think anybody would have predicted them playing in the championship. This tournament had more close finishes than I can remember in recent Elite 8 history.

He was an unstoppable force in the Elite 8 averaging a little under 20 points per game. Special player
