There has never been a sprinter that had the initial jump like Cav. Age doesnt change that. He is also the best ever getting through gaps that other sprinters are scared to go through.
Today he showed both. Watching him float around the bunch until he found his spot was classic Cav.
I never raced in europe but did some pretty high level US racing. The sprint is just pure adrenaline. Shoulder to shoulder at 40+mph can not be replicated.

We agree on Marks achievement as the best sprinter of all time. I’m going out on a limb by saying Eddy was never in the group in front of the broom wagon. Apples and oranges.
ETA: the tour needs sprinter to fill the gap between gc stages. Not a bad thing but so different.

Eddy is the greatest, no doubt. He won everything.....multiple times.
525 victories is not even achievable now! If he had been focused on the TDF like the guys now, he probably would have won 3-5 more. Different times then though.
I wasn't making an argument that Cav was better. He just broke a record that seemed impossible to break and he did that as a sprinter at 39 years old. Sprinters don't sprint at 39...they are on the couch at home.
Have you seen his documentary on Netflix? Check it out if you haven't. It is really good.

Loving the complete positivity from the other riders and teams. They are all showering him with congrats and love in every post from all the teams and riders.
Great day for the sport of cycling.
One of Cav’s sons couldn’t wait to see Tadej though even after the win and got to meet him and Pog gave the youngster the shades he wore on that stage

Watching Cav documentary again right now crazy to see him in 2019/2020 versus now. Dude legit almost quit on his goal, makes it that much more special

Excited for Cav! I missed yesterday and caught up this morning!
Kinda boring start today, looks like the peloton will stay together today.

Phil needs to retire, it’s so sad and annoying he’s messing these sprints up. “Dylan G was far off”, he wins the stage jesus. Bobke is almost just as bad
Also Kristoffson was said more times than I care to count

The first sprinter the camera cut too after the race was dylan g and instead of that being a hint Phil took it as an indication he was far off. lol.

Tomorrow’s TT.
This profile looks a lot different than the profile on the tour website. That one almost appears flat but this looks a little more jagged. Clock never lies. Should be interesting for sure. One would believe that this is Pog vs Remco, but you never know.

TT should be fantastic. I haven't heard that any riders plan to do bike changes or anything.
I'm curious if Philipsen saw all the elbows and movement taking place yesterday and thought they were going to be pretty forgiving of such things. I think he has a history of moving out of his lane though, unless I'm thinking of someone else.

Yesterday's and today's stage should make for good Netflix episodes.

Stage 6 profile looked like it would be boring but Horner does a pretty good job talking about some things that made it more difficult than would first appear - cross winds etc.
If I'm reading things correctly, Philipsen still got 20pts on Stage 6, but he was relegated and penalized 13pts.
Girmay at 149pts, next is Pedersen at 111pts. Will be interesting to see if Girmay can keep this green jersey into Nice.

Well he also lost the 30 points for finishing 2nd. And girmay gained some extra points after being bumped up from 3rd to 2nd. So in all he lost 53 points I believe due to the relegation.

So if I'm calculating this right Ving and Pog go slightly before 10 am CST.

Jonas looks slightly human now, gonna be fun seeing him attack in the mountains this year after dominating Pog the last 2 years

The slippery bastard takes it.

Pretty big day for Pog.

"Jonas lost 8 lbs from last year's Tour weight."
This cat was like 130lbs wet last year. You mean to tell me he now weighs in the low 120's. His % of body fat must be in low single digits.

It occurred to me during the TT that the TDF may not ever happen for Roglic. On a side note, I'm seeing a lot of people refer to his team now as either Red Bull or Red Bull Bora. I wonder if this annoys sponsors.
