Alabama is CLEARLY more deserving than Ohio State, unfortunately.

Bama once again didn't even win the division so in that case osu...least they made the conference title game.

...getting blown out by Oklahoma at home and destroyed by Iowa is the difference.

So schedule Florida State and Mercer from now on.

Got it...

Clemson would have to be #1 seed over Auburn if Auburn wins the SECCG.

Otherwise, in no particular order:
- SEC Champion
- ACC Champion
- OU
- Wisconsin if they beat tOSU / Bama if Wisconsin loses

Ohio State got in without being the conference champion and over a team that actually won the conference that they lost to head to head.

If that can happen, surely Bama can get in with their only loss to a team that will likely win the SECCG and be in the playoff.

tOSU is out completely in my opinion. Two really bad blowout losses is the difference.

2017 Bama =/= 2016 Ohio State

Bama may benefit from Iowa, but 2016 is irrelevant to that.

I'm just saying, if conference championship didn't matter for tOSU, why would it matter for Alabama?

Alabama has shown to be the more consistent team, tOSU has not.

tOSU's only shot is if OU loses and they beat Wisconsin.

Otherwise, tOSU isn't getting in over the SEC Champ, ACC Champ and a one loss Alabama.

Bama doesn't have three wins over top ten teams. They're also competing with another conference's champion.

If UGA and Oklahoma win, I think the Buckeyes are in. I don't particularly want them to be in, but that's how I see it going down.

Who knows what this committee will do this year, though.

I know you hate Ohio State and remember you saying they didn't have a chance last year despite us warning you. Prepare to be mad again if they beat Wisconsin.

The committee looks at overall resume. That means quality of schedule and quality of wins above all else. That is why Ohio State got in over Penn State last year. They had 3 top ten wins. Penn State had 2 losses, and only 1 quality win. Those are not close to equal resumes. The committee chairman himself said if the resumes are not EQUAL then head to head and championships are not huge factors.

Lets look at this years situation. This year Bama just doesn't have the quality wins that Ohio State had last year. It's not close to the same situation. Again, Ohio State last year had 3 top ten wins. Alabama this year has 0 top ten wins and probably only 2 top 25 wins. Ohio State does have 2 losses, but will overcome the extra loss based on quality wins (3 top 15 wins) and a tougher schedule (Oklahoma). Then they can tack on the Conference Championship factor if needed.

If Georgia beats Auburn, there's no way Alabama should get in sitting out the SEC champ game and losing to the loser of the SEC champ game.

If Georgia wins you have two SEC teams who each only have one loss. If Auburn wins you would have an SEC team with two losses already in there. To me, Bama has a better shot at getting in if Georgia wins.

This 247 article summarizes it well

quote:

Because, at least when it comes to wins, Alabama's resume is nowhere near as strong as some other teams. In large part due to Florida State’s flop this season, the Crimson Tide’s non-conference schedule is weak. And because of a down year in the SEC, Alabama’s normally strong SEC West wins pack less of a punch. Ohio State in 2016 is the only playoff team to ever get in without a conference championship. But that Buckeyes group owned four wins over Top 15 teams. On top of that, the Buckeyes’ only loss came by three points on the road to a Top 10 team in the committee’s eyes (Penn State).

One of OSU's losses is to a likely playoff team in Oklahoma.

would honestly give it to ucf ... bama didn't make the title game and osu's losses are arse whippings ... neither team deserves to get in, tbh ...

I would leave Bama out. Probably end up being:

OU
Clemson
Auburn
OSU

Forgot about UCF. It would be nice to see them get it but I doubt they will.

Oh.

I hear they'll get to a bowl if they beat ULM.

Solid win.
