Will OU softball start their season in the SEC next year or will it be another season in the Big12 ?

OU and Texas are in the big 12 for one more athletic year after this one

I knew football started in fall of 24 and everyone talks about June of 24 just wasn't sure if Softball and spring sports had to wait for spring of 25

According to the ESPN announcers they just said spring of 25. Was hoping the spring sports would have got an early jump.

That was wild. LSU pitcher retires 6 of 7 and gets pulled. My guess is they are looking long term and want to get many pitchers in vs great hitting team to prepare for playoffs.
LSU pitching doing a great job other than 2nd inning.

Jordy balling out on mound, which pitching has helped with LSU also pitching great.

Been a great game, hats off to LSU pitchers too. OU needed a hostile close game and LSU delivered. And Jordy needed to be pressured with crowd rallying which she got and made it through. This will help both programs.

Final 3-0. Jordy had 13 K’s. Thats Bahl game.
Jordy Bahl threw 130 pitches at LSU, which is the second-most work she's had in a game during her Sooners career
154: Tennessee (2022)
130: LSU (2023)
128: Texas (2022)
109: Texas (2022)
108: Texas (2023)
Great game though and nice to have a packed and rowdy game on the road. LSU pitching did a great job all night other than 2nd inning. 28 straight for OU.

OU is on the edge of making softball boring.
If the SEC doesn't get its act together with NIL, the talent in the south is going to start going west.
In the mid-2010s the SEC won a string of titles and seemed to have at least half the teams in the Top-10 all year, and would average about 3 teams in the CWS each year. That has gone down to 2 and last year was at just one team, Florida, and since 2017 they've been good, and good enough to get there, but not a legit threat to win it all.
SEC currently has 2 teams in the top-10 and neither of them is a threat for the national title.
OU has won 4 of the last 6 titles. Great for OU, but bad for the sport.

What? Softball is going bonkers in TV ratings. In fact softball playoffs get higher ratings than baseball playoffs. Go look it up its true.

I think the new time rules will help with some of that.

Agree. But I also think softball keeps rising too. Lets hope both keep increasing that will being more TV money to schools in long run
