Working with the VIX

VIX made a lower low today when it dropped below 57. This should mean a change in trend, higher, in the markets.
The next level of confirmation, another lower low, would be falling below 47.
Should be buying the dips going forward. Will definitely have pullbacks, lot of bad data coming soon. Hope we've seen the worst and the odds are now in your favor.

had a question about the VIX.. Does it drop when the market is unanimously selling as well?

Vix tends to work opposite the market averages. Inverse relationship about 95% of the time.

was thinking the same thing. that being said, i want to see how the market reacts to the unemployment numbers. they'll gonna be huge.

Markets already know that. No big surprise. A lot of ugly numbers will be coming at us in the near future. If the VIX continues to drop and you get an initial sell off on the announcements, should be safe to add to positions. Wish you good fortune!

VIX started going up with the rally in the afternoon...volatility isn't going anywhere anytime soon
