I have an old garden district home with windows in poor shape due to years of neglect under window bars. Looking at either window world or relief windows. What is the money board opinion. Thanks

We have window world. Pretty good quality for what they are. Cheap, seal well, easy to operate and clean. But don't expect any real addition to the aesthetics of your house outside of the windows being new.

And keep an eye on the installers. We had several frames destroyed in order to fit them in the openings.

When I saw your title 'Windows', I seriously thought you were going to have a computer software question.

Everybody thinks of Window World because of all their ads, but they did my neighbor's and I was not impressed. The crew installed 2 windows that the top and bottom section had different style panes. Hell, I could see it from my house, but they just put them in. Then they had to redo them after someone figured it out.

I used a local company up here that custom built the Windows after meticulously measuring everything. Very happy with the product and install. So check around. Maybe ask a home builder for recommendations.

If your place was built pre-78, they will likely test for lead paint. If you have it, the work will cost more because of extra precautions they have to take.
