Over time, small caps outperform.

I have probably 25% in small caps.

Usually, sure, but it’s been a tough road to hoe for a decade or so.

I’m just lazy.

I set the low cost funds and leave them alone for my biggest accounts.

I am more active in smaller accounts. Sell put and call options. Move into beaten down sectors and stocks. Right now it’s hard to find deep value, but I’ve bought some AFL, LNC, and a few banks.

Most of the money I’ve made has been made by “time in the market,” rather than timing the market.

My cost on 348 shares of Apple is $23.50.

I may never sell because I think the dividend will increase over time.

I bought Seagate in the 40s last year. Another great dividend.

I’ve accumulated XOM and COP over the last year.

At the end of the day, a bull market makes everyone a savant. I try to remember that consistently investing money regularly over time works better than trying to ride one stock to the moon.

Good luck to everyone. I do not know better than you.

All I’ve learned is that when I buy a stock the market may not agree with my choice over short period of time. In fact, I’ve had picks go belly up.
I’ve also picked some big winners, but all in all for most of us sticking with a broad basket of stocks for a long period of time will lead to solid returns.
