Why are you using old data for Voyager but using March's data released today for Coinbase?

Coinbase price target lifted to $440 from $195 by D.A. Davidson

D.A. Davidson analyst Gil Luria boosts his price target for Coinbase Global (COIN) to $440 from $195, as its far better-than-expected preliminary Q1 results provides a "terrific setup" for its pending direct listing.
Rates the cryptocurrency exchange firm as Buy.
Price target reflects 20x multiple on 2021 revenue.

True.

Like I’ve said earlier, I think Voyager is a very interesting stock without trying to draw comps to Coinbase. It’s why I’ve given you such a hard time with your attempts to derive a Voyager price target from Coinbase data.

I just bought 300 shares at 25.30 so look forward to seeing what this one will do but it looks promising.

Surprised it’s blood red today given the Coinbase earnings and with my other crypto stonk holding, BBKCF, up 50% this week.

I see VYGVF & BBKCF as good acquisition targets for companies looking to consolidate the industry going forward.

I couldn't agree more. BBKCF is really cheap and has government contracts with the other side of their business.

The Coinbase revenue announcement has turned heads.

I’m having a little trouble squaring away a reasonable argument I read today - given the fact Coinbase and Voyager, among others, are going to be highly correlated to the price of BTC, why wouldn’t one simply buy the underlying coins?

The crypto exchanges seem to have a long way to go before they behave like traditional brokerage firms, so I’m inclined to invest directly into cryptos rather than the indirect exposure of the exchanges. How COIN behaves should help clear up that conundrum.

Because BTC will eventually reach a plateau and other challengers could potentially emerge due to upside and growth potential.

Wouldn't they be correlated to the volume of trading rather than the price of BTC? I know they have a long way to go before they're a Fidelity, but that's kind of the appeal in my opinion...IMO that means there's a ton of value that's left to capture as Coinbase and Voyager mature into more of the traditional brokerage firms. Who knows if they'll get there but that's the hope.

Then you buy the platforms at that time.

My point is that BTC, Voyager, and Coinbase are effectively joined at the hip right now. The better play is whichever one produces more beta going forward. BTC seems to have more of a moat than Coinbase or Voyager, even though I think that moat is quite small itself.

I invest in crypto as well as stocks, but I'm not putting half a million in crypto even if they pay really good interest rates.

From the charts, this was a necessary and predicted pullback.

yep

I just didn't think it would happen so fast. Like others said, Bitcoin has an affect on everything crypto related. The crypto companies make a large % of their revenue on spreads. The more money everyone makes on Bitcoin, the more spread revenue Voyager, Coin, etc. also makes.

This is where I am. I think the exchanges may by HUGE in a long while, I also dont think we are there yet. Maybe I am wrong. I hope I am, I have bought into the hype train on this one.
