To more people than you can imagine, capital gains are their job/income.

I think we can worry about both government spending and tax policy. It hurts the system by giving some tax advantages that others do not get. It creates a reward system for politicians and their cronies. Everyone should pay a similar amount based on THEIR income. However it is they choose to make their income.

I agree with the flat income tax system.

No matter how you spin it, income and capital gains are two totally different things. How the money is used is of no relevance. Should my kids have to pay taxes on the money I spend on them?
