My father was given a 6 digit IP PIN number by the IRS to use when filing taxes because in the past he had his identity stolen.

When TurboTax asks for the PIN, it only allows for 5 digits and the filing keeps getting rejected due to this.

Any help with this matter is appreciated!

It's asking for the PIN he created last year, I believe. You chose your own pin at the end of every filing when you use those services. H&R does the same.

We used the number he used last year first. Got rejected. Then he told me about the IP PIN he got in the mail and we are at the current predicament.

You'll need to input the PIN from the IRS in a different area of the program.

Not familiar with Turbotax so I can't help more than that, but you'll need both PINs.

IP PIN is a different number from a Filing PIN

IP PIN is 6 digits, Filing PIN is 5 digits

Look for a part of the software that discusses Identity Protection. It also may be on the section that deals with personal information.
