This is probably a much better case for the LLOG folks. Much more likely to keep everyone and the Covington office I would imagine.

I heard last month that Beacon was being bought out but couldn't remember who was buying them.

I'll have to make a phone call. Hopefully someone who will keep the company whole. They have a lot less company folks though compared to LLOG.

This is what i immediately thought of. I also have my suspicions this may have played into the family's decision.

I don't think they necessarily had any obligation, but i bet they think they do. See stone creek above, or the decision to centralize everything at the N shore office, or employee participation.
