Shaw Group down $4/share; 13% in pre-market. lost $70MM in fiscal Q3 compared to $68MM profit last year. A loss of $0.89/share.

This is what get's me: "On average, analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.68 per share."

What are these analysts smoking? Why are they so far off the mark? Buying opportunity here?? LINK

Everyone I've talked to that has done business with them has outstanding claims against them. Do they really suck that bad?

I would imagine that the worldwide nuclear power industry being under regulatory attack has provided downward pressure on the stock.

Read the quarterly results. Job in Singapore went south and south Texas project was cancelled because of Japan crisis. Otherwise they would have made 70 for the quarter.

Yeah, it looks like they took a $100 million dollar hit on a job, and had around a $40 million dollar impairment on another.

Not good.

I've been close to buying shaw a few times and I've always held off. I've never regretted not buying in.

I wish I could say the same for a few other companies.
