Tired of working for the man and making money for someone else... Looking for suggestions and ideas for starting a small business

I've always wanted to start a BBQ restaurant.

Wouldn't it be better to start with your own idea?

Yes
But I really don't know what exactly I want to do. I just want to own my own business and depend on myself for success or failure.

What are your interest?
I have two small businesses and a real job. Hopefully one rises to the top so I can quit the real job.

What kind of book would you pick up to read for personal enjoyment? What kind of book would you like to write if you could be an expert on something?
You're the only person who knows what you're interested in/are good at.

I'm in same boat. I would love to have my hand in something I can run or co-own. I'm not sure what though. I would love to open something around here in Cenla that is unique and would bring something different to this area.

I have the same deal. 2 small side ventures and one main job. I keep the job for stability and insurance but I would love for one of the side ventures to become my main source of income

if you live in Alabama you should start a service that matches up the unemployed with jobs the mexicans used to do...
