Women’s suffrage and it’s consequences have been a disaster for the human race

Tomato. Tomahto.
History isn't an indicator of future reality. But history says the 401k will be $3.6M in 2035.
I got a late start on my 401k' so I was trying to pump close to 20% to hit that $100k mark as young as possible. No one said it would he easy. We'd go camping instead of resorting. I drive a beater that is worse than what my teenagers bought for themselves.
I don't pay more than I have to for things.

What’s the significance of this mark compared with another amount?

None. Other than me needing something of value to compound growth.
It was an easy goal to visualize.
I was 23 with no retirement. 3 years later, I had about $20k as just something I should do since I had matching.
At 25, I was married and thinking of opportunity lost by being in the workforce 5 years with only $20k to show for it.

Idk man I think I’m done with stocks until AT comes back
I’m just not gonna worry about retirement because it’s so far away and I don’t think our financial system is gonna hold up that long.

That was about 2.5 years of taking the company match (and nothing more).
I know that not every 23 year old is in a corporate environment with a company match. But given the match, it is ignorance to not take the free money.

You were asking me what industry I’m in
I work in the field field as a tax picker

Unemployment stats only include people actively looking for work. So there’s that
Posted on 3/24/23 at 6:16 pm to ArkBengal
So how do they measure who is or isn't looking for work?
Posted on 3/24/23 at 11:00 pm to themasterpater
Example: Report weekly on job searches not submitted or if benefits expire. Think you are removed from “active seekers” then. Maybe more, but rest assured there are a lot of people who fall into the void and aren’t counted in the stats

Can you walk me through this math?

I'm doubling 401k every 29 to 45 months. I didn't save my work, but I may have rounded up to doubling every 50 months.
I've been tracking since 2010.
