Questions about CPEs for CPAs?

I'm finally entering a period where I have to get CPEs (I got my CPA in the 2nd half of this year, so Louisiana told me not to worry about it until 2019).
What does everyone use for CPE Credits? I've been seeing that the Big 4 run a bunch of free CPE credit webcasts. Also, what the hell is Personal Development CPE credits? Colorado is capping me out at 20% of credits can be Personal Development, but there's really no good definition of these online.

All of the Big 4, and a number of the national firms, offer these.
Many state and local CPA societies will offer free CPE from time to time. In New Orleans, the local chapter does 6-8 sessions a year that are 2 hours each, free to members.
Most software and/or service providers offer free CPE. Paychex and ADP both have free webinars they do from time to time, etc.
There are also the "all you can eat" annual packages offered by different providers.
I use a mix of the above. Our firm pays for an unlimited online package for me, but I get it from plenty of other places as well (especially the free stuff).

Generally, anything not technical in nature. So, "soft" skills, leadership skills, marketing, management, business development skills, etc.
For example, there are several groups out there that do partner development programs and/or rainmaking programs. While these count for CPE, they are personal development CPE, and some states limit how much of that you can use a year.

I generally use Checkpoint Learning (Thomson Reuters).
But I'll do classes and seminars, as well.

Oh ok, so even if I'm not in industry (I've got a couple of potentials in Industry and CPA Firms) I can still take CPE credit classes from things I'm interested in (Oil and Gas, Tech, Forensic, ect)?

Every state is different, but generally the limits are...
1) You may be capped in how many hours you can have in a particular topic area
2) You may have to have so many A&A (audit and accounting) hours
3) They should be in areas that help you develop and/or expand your career. This is kind of wide-ranging, but it basically means the CPE should be somewhat relevant to you and/or help you develop future skills.
But every state has their own unique requiremets.

Now I have to do a deep dive on both CO and LA so I can make sure my CPE credits satisfy both.

I originally got my CPA for Louisiana and now I have one for CO through reciprocity. I moved out here.
