This also works with credit union refi's also. You end up with the rebates and a month later a much better rate through your credit union.

I tried the same thing...they will not give you a deal because the finance department pays them up front regaurdless. If anything, the finance department wants you to pay notes so they can get the intrest.

I'm not sure, but I believe that closed credit card accounts typically lower your credit score, so I'm guessing that paying off a car loan quickly would lower your credit score as well.

Ok that makes sense. I guess paying it off in like 6 months to a year wouldn't be too bad of an idea then.

Get the discounts and finance. Then pay it off as soon as the terms allow (30 days). This will also help your credit score.

ETA I would think that closing off a loan in good faith would help, no ?
