Anyone have any experience working for a city/county office? Noticed a Director position (accounting related) and curious what kind of salary range would be offered for that. It would be for Harris county (Houston).

Your salary will almost always be lower in the public sector. However, the total benefits package will be fairly comparable. Public jobs usually have great insurance and earlier retirement. This might be obvious, just thought I'd chime in.
