Plenty of people on the exchanges like bittrex will dump their coins for tether. In a sense, its a way to just sell and hold your current value. If you dump alts into btc, and btc dumps also, your value is going down on each step. Tether is a good option to stay afloat.
Although dumping alts into btc when it is down is not a bad idea if you are confident btc will surge again.
With these swings, dumping an alt at a 30% loss into btc might not be a bad move if btc jumps 20%+ on its rebound. That alt might not recover for weeks or months or ever.

I don't watch GOT, but wasn't there an episode where basically everyone died? That's what the past 2 days have been like in crypto. My Blockfolio, which has coins I own and some I just track has been solid red 
Only thing that sucks is I bought some more NEO at $25, wish I could have it at $15. Would love to get more BNB and IOTA but don't have anything I can sell right now.

I settled down from my panic mode at bought 50% of my original stake.
Didn't lose much other than a mild opportunity cost.

Isn't Binance (BNB) a Chinese exchange? Doesn't these new regulations pretty much force it to shut its doors at least temporarily?

Tether bounces back and forth a couple of percentage points. It was at $1.04 the other day for 1 usdt.

Just the pairing from whatever exchange youre using.
ETH/USD will be from a service like coinbase or gemini. Its just the pairing when you are using usd to buy eth. Set your alerts in this selection. You can use usd amounts and they wont change like eth/btc pairing.
ETH/BTC is the pairing of buying eth with btc. This will be used primarily on exchanges by me. I dont like to set alerts with this pairing because btc fluctuates and an alert at $300 might not go off because the alert was raised because btc price went up.
I like to add USD pairs on blockfolio just for the sole reason of tracking coins and putting alerts with usd numbers.
Speaking of blockfolio, this might be me being extra cautious but I never put my full amounts in the coin buys. Lets say I just bought 100 NEO. I will lock in the exchange and the price, but will put 0.1 into blockfolio as my buy amount. All I need to see is the percentage increase/decrease. I also dont trust that blockfolio isnt giving out my information to whomever.

Just track on Blockfolio at 1/10 of your actual holdings. It's kinda like setting your clock 10 minutes fast. Doesn't really change things but you feel better cause you got a cushion and it's easy to do the math, if you want. And if anyone is reporting or tracking holdings, you are under the radar.

What's happening is a good thing regarding the ICOs. Neo co-founder seems pretty chummy with the govt.
After some regulation, neo could be the primary platform for all the upcoming ICOs. Who knows? It's an established coin that's not going to go away because of this 'bad' news.
It's entirely possible this is going down like this so the big players could get back in cheap before things take off.

NEO about to be back to $25 already. I was going to wire more money tomorrow if it stayed under $20. I think I'll just stick to what I have for now, it's been bloody. I do feel like NEO will be ok, but I don't trust the Chinese govt though so I'm in HODL mode. Probably a mistake and I'll regret not buying "cheap" NEO.

NEO is a solid platform. This is a panic sale similar to what we saw with BTC and ETH a while back. NEO is going to be back around $50 soon

Do you thing NEO has the potential to match Ethereum at some point? I guess what I mean is, would you consider NEO a 6 month to a year hold?

I have lisk and plan to hold it for awhile. They are very well funded and have a team that I would like to describe as dedicated. They seem very transparent in what theyre doing.
I think plenty falls on the rebranding they have planned coming up. If the community reacts well, 2018 could be very big for LSK. NEO rebranding took it through the roof. They will be a platform for ICOs(
), blockchain apps, and have other uses. I havent read much on the delegate voting but I would assume thats for people very heavily invested in the coin.
Ive got OMG also and believe its a good company. They and NEO seem very compliant with the recent news and that they will come back stronger.
