From my understanding...
You have to purchase Eth, Litecoin, or BTC on coinbase. THEN transfer it to Bittrex. I responded to your previous post about transferring from Coinbase to Bittrex.
I remember purchasing ETH initially with USD on Coinbase and taking a little while to go through. This was months ago when it was still at $50 per. I haven't paid attention to crypto since.
I'm getting my feet wet currently. Going to be a fun week of research.

If you are just storing, neon wallet, if you want it on an exchange that gives you your GAS, finance. Bittrex keeps your GAS if it's on their exchange unless something has changed.

it's similar to venmo, but you can convert your deposit to BTC. I started using it for small deposits so I can dollar cost average BTC. I put around $50 a week into.
