LINK choosing ADA just as much as ADA choosing LINK.

Never made any sense for LINK to be ETH only - they want to be (and currently are) the dominant oracle in crypto.

ADA will have multiple oracle options. LINK, Ergo, Wolfram, Charli3, maybe some others I don't know of.

Would link be classified as a security?

I wouldn't think so. Govt is coming soon though - hope it's not too disruptive to the space.

LINK is the epitome of a security under the classic definition, it was 30% premine for developers

with that said, only a handful of coins dont fit the definition of security, at least the way gensler describes it

Was there a pre-mine? If so, yes they will be effected.

It depends on what kind of regulation. I don't foresee the SEC going after the individual project/coin. I don't think they have the ability to do that. What they could do is force US based exchanges from offering those coins on their platform.

Link doesn’t discriminate who decides to be its customer but Charles was a vocal little bitch about not using Chainlink on Cardano before inevitably bending the knee to the Oracle standard .

That was a really bad pitch. I can't lie.

I don't think so, chainlink is not going anywhere. if anything I'm hoping these pre minted coins just pay a fine and register as securities and we move on? I'm not sure what the sec has in mind...

no one knows what the regulatory framework looks like moving fwd, unfortunately.

Not accurate. In the beginning, Charles was vocal and very positive about integrating with Chainlink. He did say that the community (not the project) was very tribal and toxic and he didn't understand why they would be against integrating another L1 blockchain. He also thought the leadership of Chainlink should've been more vocal about the value proposition, but he said he would do what was in the best interest of the project.

I was going to go into more detail about that, but was in a bit of a hurry. That would be the part of the project that would risk being defined as a security. I know there are a handful of criteria that are used (some of it subjective) to meet the security definition.

yea ive only seen Charles talk positive about Chainlink, but he was critical of the frog trolls on twitter...which is understandable
