Apparently Maxine Waters is leading some Democrat working group in Congress to discuss regulations on cryptocurrencies. I’m sure their understanding of the technology will be nuanced and their proposals well reasoned

Crypto is just as corrupt as the rest.

Middle men controlling a lot (which is was crypto was supposed to get rid of)

House Democrats form working group focused on cryptocurrencies

quote:

Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA), who leads the House Financial Services Committee, is gathering Democratic House members in a new working group focused on cryptocurrencies.

Waters briefly joined the Fintech Task Force in a virtual hearing today on the subject of central bank digital currencies. She took the occasion to echo concerns over the growth of cryptocurrencies before saying:

"As cryptocurrencies grow exponentially, I've organized a working group of Democratic members to engage with regulators and experts to do a deep dive on this poorly understood and minimally regulated industry."

Waters has long been critical of cryptocurrencies, but she joins growing ranks of senior Democratic Party leaders to speak critically on the subject in recent weeks, especially since ransomware shut down the Colonial Pipeline last month.

At a similarly CBDC-focused hearing before the Senate Economic Policy Committee last week, Senator Elizabeth Warren lambasted cryptocurrencies and, especially, the energy use of bitcoin mining.

The Biden administration has likewise highlighted ransomware as a national security concern.

Centralized exchanges represent a lot of what the original crypto community wanted to get away from, but the convenience of them outweighs peoples desire for decentralization.

DEXs that don't have insane fees would be nice, but I haven't fooled around with any yet after seeing how expensive using Uniswap would be.

We are being gaslighted and trolled by politicians and central planners more than ever. They have declared war on us and it is right in our faces now.

Correct. Coinbase and all the others are corrupt. You have to pay to play the game. Even the listing sites are corrupt (gatekeeping).

Uniswap fee's are/were expensive bc of the eth fee's. That's why.

Guess I shouldn't complain because on the flip side Nicehash has been nice to me when trading volume is up. Still, Uniswap is basically unusable for DCA smaller amounts and that's my personal investment strategy.

Maybe when the fabled ETH 2.0 launches a lot of this is ancient history and DEXs can flourish.

look into the avalanche DEXs. Fees arent too bad at all. I'm farming on yieldyak through the avalanche DEXs. Yieldyak autocompounds interest.

No, but seriously. To hear Janet Yellen as well as all these politicians talk about crypto, you would think that the dollar that they are trying to shill for has never been used in crime. Just laughable. Same with their gun narratives, they make it seem like only guns commit crimes.

oh for sure they are totally full of shite. Same with the ESG crap. If they actually gave two shits about the environment like they purport to care about it with Bitcoin, we'd hear a lot more about banning Christmas lights or video games.

They want to ban crypto because it is a threat to their monopoly of control over the monetary system, and are using subversions and FUD to try and get it out of the picture without engaging in the real debate over whether or not government and central banks should have that control at all, or if we should have true separation of monetary systems and government/central banks

I've been messing with BNB's platoform. Fees are super low. I hear Polygon is even lower.

For example, I swapped some BNB for Cake today, like $1250 worth and I think my total costs were around $2. Its so low I hardly even read it anymore lol.

yea pancake and polyswap are very low. so is Solana (raydium)

the yields are absurd and I think people are really missing out

I think that's the biggest loophole they'll try to close because there isn't a kyc on these exchanges :)

Im getting close to 110% APY on staking Cake. I cant keep up with all the other platforms.

I want to try more but I am tying to limit my non KYC funds. I actually like KYC exchanges. Just gives me some sense of security if I frick up and lose my keys
