I greatly disagree with this. I have my CPA and that combo with public did open many doors for me. However, I have worked with plenty of people who do not have their CPA and worked in public that are doing well. Does it help, yes. But it definitely doesn't negate your public accounting experience.

Whats the point of working in public accounting if your exit opportunity is going to be senior accountant anyway because you don't have your CPA?

Because job listings usually say 'CPA Preferred' and not required. Like I said, it absolutely helps and has helped me a ton. Anecdotally, I've seen plenty of successful accountants that had big 4 experience without a CPA that I would say are successful.
