I can understand that bravado of Jindal doing this but disagree with it whole-heartedly. He will, in effect, be causing people to lose jobs (unless oil magically jumps back up to $70/barrel tomorrow) for nothing more than to prove a point.

Not taking the money does not mean it will not be spent. It will, it will just go to somewhere that is not Louisiana.

Without balancing the states budget when the fed money runs out we are still in the same boat

And unfortunately the cuts will include higher education and funding for organizations that do good work for the communities and won't be a overhaul of the most corupt state agencies

Jindal said he would work to out the corruption in LA politics, so maybe this is his way of keeping money out of their hands.
