Is SPYM a viable and cheaper alternative to VOO?

ETA: I’ve invested in both but consolidated to VOO in my Schwab account. I prefer vanguard funds for whatever reason.

Yes. And it’s less per share so you don’t have to wait until you have $675+ dollars per share. SPYM is under $90 per share

Not a factor nowadays with fractional shares. If you brokerage doesnt allow fractional shares in etfs, get a better one. If you are waiting to buy round lots now a days, you're leaving $ on table while stock price climbs.

I think people still prefer VOO to use for options trading purposes. But, I guess in a nontaxable account you could always swap shares every time you hit 100.
