Your liability exposure will be huge, make sure you have appropriate insurance coverage.

Would you both consider opening an at home daycare?

You eliminate the real estate and startup costs and may be able to find tax benefits/write offs for your "business expenses".

You know what the overhead from electricity/water and whatnot will be.

I know a few stay at home moms who make decent coin doing this. It gives her a chance to get her feet wet before diving in.

You'd usually run into zoning issues I'd imagine with this. HOA issues for sure if you have an HOA.

This is true, my HOA/CDD/Zoning has no issues with it but he'd definitely would want to check.

state license required, monthly inspections, huge risk - drama moms, divorced parents fighting over who picks kid up, the list goes on
