1) environmental concerns are lies, spent $200M on environmental impact study, concluded no harm to salmon 2) did make some modifications 3) upcoming veto case from Biden. Goes against Trumps pro-mine agenda. 3) China has been moving to control markets for decades.

You can really see some of it's worth when metal detecting. You can pull pre 82 pennies out of the ground that are still looking good after years of being buried. With modern zinc clad pennies, not so much. They start getting eaten away by the earth very quickly.
The last generation (2025) was 2.5/97.5 Cu/Zn
The Zinc planchets were merely Copper plated (somewhere in Tennessee, at a private facility).
Rome’s coinage went to shite in it’s last years too….
