Congrats on seeing it through. It is absolutely a sacrifice to get there. Especially enlisted.

My best friend in high school did the naval academy.

At 16 years old, he had his life mapped out to age 29 (he did Bethesda after the academy and is a navy obgyn still to this day).

Even with the security of having a medical degree paid for by the US government, it was a lot for me to swallow standing next to him as a junior im high school looking ahead.

it really changes once you hit 40. sure we realized life was short once you hit 30 but you were still young. issue is you are on the treadmill of life and cannot sulk and pout about it. you have bills to pay and have to work so you move on and keep grinding. i made enough sacrifices when younger. do what you want to do now.
