Rather be a crook than a dumbass.
I told you why prices are up. Not once did my post say anything about materials or wood or construction. If you can’t comprehend why prices are up then I can’t so shite for you and neither can anyone on the money board.

My Safeco policy went from 3K TO 8k annually.
No reason given.

Wasting your time trying to reason with this guy. Dude could’ve gotten some legit answers in this thread from several insurance agents on this board, but he wants to take the “insurance agents are crooks and full of shite” and “if they don’t tell me what I want to hear, I’ll cuss them out” approach. Let him figure it out on his own since the people who do this for a living apparently are just full of shite.

This shite is fantastical!
I seriously came in here and started a thread by saying this:
There it is! In the original post! Me saying of course its not about materials and labor then going on to point out why its clearly not.
Yet multiple asshats marched in here to be offended that I was mean to an agent that was lying to me or tell me it wasn't inflation or labor. Like I hadn't said that in the first place. Can you toolbags use some simple reading comprehension to see that this entire thread is me saying IT CANT BE ABOUT MATERIALS AND LABOR SO WHY IS THE REP TELLING ME THAT.
Can you also see, once I draw it for you with a crayon, that this statement is only going after an agent that would blame my 60% premium increase on inflation?
I had to wade through 10 dumbass posts for every 1 that was helpful and serious.

They have doubled the cost of our dwelling coverage saying "inflation and labor". Hahahha!!! Who the frick are they kidding?
We all know they are FOS.

We will be hunting a replacement company and policy tomorrow. I'll let you know what we find. I can already tell you Progressive had no options for us.

We got it 18% cheaper through State Farm, but only because we bundled. Otherwise it would have been more. This State Farm policy also separates hurricanes into its own category and doubles the deductible(which is fine because its still only 5k and we aren't near the coast).

You don't know how hurricane coverage works, do you?

Based off your comment...apparently not. The floor is yours.

Any storm/weather damage when the storm was previously named is covered under the hurricane coverage.
It doesn't have to be considered a hurricane when it hits your home.
All-State likes to push high hurricane deductibles in the Atlanta market.
And then everyone gets pissed when they discover that their storm damage has a 2% deductible (2% of a $500k home is a $10k deductible).

I think maybe there was a misunderstanding in our communication.
When I said I wasn't close to the coast, I stated that to explain we aren't very suspectible to catastrophic hurricane damage. I understand that any damage caused by a "declared hurricane" (downgraded or not) will get the 2% hurricane deductible.

Greater Atlanta is 250 miles off the Atlantic coast.
But the last hurricane to seriously damage the metro area came up through Tallahassee. These homes were under 350 miles from the hurricane's landfall.
How far off the coast are you?

Every state insurance is different.
It is 3 days in Georgia from being dropped to a tropical depression.
Edit to add: I'm a little shocked that a coastal state is only 24 hours. But I believe you if you say so.
Double edit: what is a hurricane watch in Louisiana. I'm familiar with tornado watches. I'm not familiar with a hurricane watch.

Dam Sonny. You came in to tell me I didn't understand and then didn't know what you were talking about.

Which one of you have I pissed off so bad that you downvote every post as soon as I make it?

I've never lived in LA.
I get to learn from yous guys.
Do you know what a hurricane watch is?
It sounds like a bullshite term that can make almost any tropical storm a hurricane deductible.

You're in luck. There are about 5 different agents in here right now foaming at the mouth. They probably mad you asked me a question that should have been directed to them.

I mean. Any circular storm rotation is pretty much going to qualify as a hurricane watch.
That's pretty much the definition of a tornado watch. Conditions which are present for a tornado to occur.
It kind of makes the 24 hour hurricane warning a moot point because it will almost always still fall under a watch so long as it has the rotation.

I’ll take one of the number of down votes across the board. Not so much because you pissed me off because you haven’t, but just more or less to get you all riled up over a stupid checkmark on an internet message board. Clearly it worked.
